All About the C7 Editor - Happy Holidays!
I’ve been busy documenting the new functionality in the IDE. The last few days I’ve been working on the source editor. The new Clarion editor is derived from the base SharpDevelop editor, and a lot of time was spent customizing this editor for handling Clarion language source code and for use in the new AppGen as an embed editor.
So while I was at it I decided to put together some movies to give you a preview of some of the powerful new features of the Clarion 7 Source Editor.
The first movie introduces the Search and Navigation features of the Clarion 7 Text Editor. We look at loading source documents, hot keys to access the new Structure Designer (I cover Windows in this movie and in another I look at the new Report Designer), we take a look at the new Classes window, and the cool Navigation in the new Editor.
These Flash Movies should be compatible in any browser that has Flash plug-in support. Most of them do now. Also, in each movie you will notice navigation button either at the Top Center or Bottom Center of the movie. Use these buttons to Pause or Fast Forward the presentation to suit your needs.

The next movie demonstrates the new “code folding” feature of the Clarion 7 Text Editor, and also explores in detail the “right-click” menu options.

In our next movie, let’s take a look at the new Structure Designer that is built-in to the Clarion 7 Text Editor. This Designer can be used for both Windows and Reports:

This movie explores two areas of the Clarion 7 Text Editor that you will use often. The first is the Search and Replace feature, followed by a look at Reports in the new Structure Designer.

Finally, our last two movies in this series focus on the Text Editor Options. By exploring these setup options, you can see just how configurable and versatile this new Editor is:
