Clarion 6.3.9056 released to 3rd party vendors

The latest release of Clarion 6.3 has been released to 3rd party vendors to allow them time to prepare their products for the general release.

There are many good bug fixes, and new support for generating a Vista Manifest with UAC attributes, along with the option to automatically add the generated manifest into the project so that it's linked into the executable or dll.

Also a nice improvement, the linker will now report all missing/inaccessible files in the first attempt at compilation. So if you're missing icons or other resources you'll get the complete list of all missing files without having to repeatedly attempt to compile the application.

You can view the complete list here

Bob,
I have translated all the prompts both in the templates as in the TRN-files into german.
In the past each update has overwritten each file in the Clarion-folder, no matter if a change has been in that particular file or not. You can imagine that this is a bit annoying. And I do not dare to recover any old files if they have been replaced by your update. I expect that teher has been a reason and I don't want to increase any mess ;-)
Its quite time-consuming to translate the entire UI each time.
Will this update make all screens, all buttons, all everything in english once again or have you modified the Install?
(I have had put this request in the PTSS last year already......)
Another question: how will multi-lingual UserInfaces be handled in C7? I do not mean the IDE, I mean the enduser-programs produced with Clarion. Same PITA as before?
Thanks for lifting the curtain that inch.
Wolfgang

Wolfgang,
I understand the issue, and I'd like to start a community translation project initially for the templates, and later for other parts of the IDE.

Until such time as we can get a project like that online, the approach I would recommend for you is to run the Service Pack install and target the install to a new directory. Then using a file compare tool you can quickly identify the changed files and the line numbers that have changed. A tool that I like is Beyond Compare, it will show you the files side-by-side and allow you to merge changes very quickly.
C7 and C6 support multi-lingual UI in the same way, but I think it's not that much pain, and is very flexible. I'd like to hear any ideas you have on how it could be made easier to work with.
