Cool Buttons

We get a lot of requests from our users for ways to improve the cosmetics of their applications, hence the many new visual features that we added to the Clarion 7 runtime.

With Clarion.Net you can of course use any .Net control, those that ship from Microsoft or any custom control.
But the standard .Net button controls don't look any different from what you have now in Clarion 7 on Win32.
One of our developers created this new "Glass" styled button for Clarion.Net, and I think you'll like it.  Here's a very short video (~1 minute) that shows the Glass button.  The button implements a visual effect like a Vista button, but you can get this effect on any OS that supports .Net 2.0., and you get to specify all the details for the effects.

Have a look at this video and see what you think.

That's kewl! Any chance we can see how they were made? As well as changing their properties?

Just drag from the toolbox like any button, and then F4 to set the props. Here's a link to show some of the properties you can set.

Supurb that we will have this much class right out of the box. That really is over the top!

Thanks! I was hoping for something button that says "Press to make Russ an artist". Guess that is asking a bit much, huh? ;-)

Bob, this looks great. But forgive my ignorance of all things .Net, but can these Glass buttons be used in C7 as well?

Kim,

Sorry but the control was developed for .Net, if there was enough interest we could create a Win32 control in a similar fashion.

I am sure there would be a lot of interest in Win32 controls that use the "glass" available in Vista.

Gentlemen,

I think the point of Clarion.NET is if you make an appliction with it, how would a user know it is .NET? Other than being a very sexy interface (and yet still completely functional)?

Yes, please consider this for win32 as well!
