Communication Link Failure

Good day,
I have a C6 Legacy App running on a MSSQL database. This app runs on the server handles replication between multiple locations. From time to time, there may be network issues and the application gets a "Communication Link Failure". Once I get this error, I am generally unable to reestablish the connection to the server without restarting the application. Does anyone know how to recover from this error without restarting the app?
