Hello Aces,

how "new" are you to Clarion?
What about looking at the examples and work through the "Getting Started", using TPS as your datafiles.
Once you get used  to Clarion and see how easy programming is with this tool, you can switch to any other data-file-driver.

Just my 2 cent
Wolfgang

Hello Aces,

If you want to enjoy, get the SQL online training course. You will be productive in MS SQL 2005 in short time.

Best wishes.

Samir

Thank you very much for reply.. ^__^

What I mean is that I can only use its native database (TPS). I enjoyed using Clarion, so I want more out of it. I'm thinking of integrating Clarion and MS SQL but don't know how to get started..

Hello Aces,

These templates are application utilities. They come into place when an application is open. Simply press CTRL-U to access them. They will read the application dictionary and create SQL scripts for the common back end databases. A million thanks to Roberto who made this stuff available to this community.

Regards.

Do you have the Clarion Enterprise version? The professional version does not support the SQL drivers.

Hello Paul,

Check your Database Driver Registry. IF you can see ODBC, you can connect to any SQL back end. You will need to get the ODBC setup for the specified database. e.g. You can connect to PostGreSQL after you download PostGres ODBC.

Regards.
Samir

Hello ayeimee,
If you know English, can you kindly post in a language we can understand, definitely not in your mother-tongue language (Tagalo). I have many Philipino friends but it would be more appropriate if you ask somebody of yours to translate...

Regards.

Hi Samir!

Sorry about that, there is no bad intention with it, I'm just a bit excited when I found out that Clarion users are growing here in our country, peace ....

I'm rather surprised at Paul's comment since I've been using PE with SQL backends for some years now, originally connecting to MSDE via ODBC.
I also have an app which uses SQL 2005 Express via the SQL drivers. It's been live for just about one year now.
